Maryan Pineiro is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Texas. She was born and raised in Puerto Rico and has lived in Texas for over a decade, first in El Paso and now in San Antonio. Maryan earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from New Mexico State University and completed her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Midwestern State University.
Maryan is bilingual in English and Spanish and passionate about providing culturally responsive care. Her clinical work is grounded in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and person-centered approaches. She also integrates creative techniques like art therapy to support emotional expression and healing.
Maryan completed her clinical internship at Alamo Ranch Counseling & Wellness, where she provided individual and couples psychotherapy for anxiety, depression, and grief. She also offered suicide prevention support and psychoeducation around stress and anger management.
She has received additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and couples counseling, focusing on helping individuals and partners improve emotional connection, navigate relational stress, and develop healthier patterns of communication. Maryan has worked with diverse populations and is especially passionate about supporting BIPOC clients, adolescents, and couples in their journey toward growth and resilience.
Maryan strives to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore their present experience, overcome obstacles, and move toward meaningful change.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking and baking, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and pets.
