Kassandra “Kassie” McClain is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Texas. She joined Alamo Ranch Counseling & Wellness as a counseling intern and has since continued with the practice after graduating with her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. Kassie was raised in Eagle Pass, Texas, a border town neighboring Mexico, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Texas State University in San Marcos.
Kassie has gained clinical experience at the St. Mary’s Family Life Center and Alamo Ranch Counseling & Wellness, where she works with clients across the lifespan—from childhood through late adulthood—navigating a wide range of challenges, including trauma, anxiety, ADHD, attachment wounds, and interpersonal difficulties. She provides a welcoming, judgment-free space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered.
Kassie’s therapeutic approach is person-centered, inclusive, and collaborative. She takes time to understand each client’s needs and goals and partners with them to build a path forward. Her interventions include trauma-informed care, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), expressive therapies, and strengths-based approaches that support both individual growth and healthy relationships. She has additional training in helping couples and families better understand and meet their attachment needs, as well as in supporting individuals with neurodiversity.
Clients who work with Kassie often share that she brings warmth, understanding, and clarity to sessions. She’s especially passionate about helping people strengthen their sense of identity, process past experiences, and build meaningful connections with themselves and others.
Outside of the therapy office, Kassie was honored with the Exemplary Service Award in 2025 for her outstanding care, dedication, and contributions to client well-being and team culture. Her clients consistently express gratitude for the safe and welcoming space she creates, her deep empathy, and her ability to help others feel truly seen and understood. Kassie’s commitment to personal and professional growth is evident in the way she embraced new challenges, such as expanding her work with couples. She also contributed creatively to the team by leading initiatives, such as the book club for the culture committee, which fostered connections and collaboration throughout the practice.
In her downtime, Kassie enjoys reading fiction novels, re-watching Grey’s Anatomy, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her family. She also loves traveling and finding new experiences to explore.
